The Corpus Connections symposium organised by Sheena Gardner took place on Wed. 13th July, with a particular focus on corpus markup and analysis. The symposium included presentations by PGRs Cipto Wardoyo and David Beauchamp, by CAMC colleagues Hilary Nesi and Benet Vincent, and by Visiting Scholar from the Spanish Applied Linguistics Circle (CLA UDL | Cercle de Lingüística Aplicada), Dr Guzman Mancho-Bares, who is conducting genre research in Catalan, Spanish and EMI contexts (e.g. see LIDISELF project). As well as being an enjoyable, informative day, the event is leading to new research collaborations and a [Q1] journal submission. Some excerpts are provided below…
